279837 Dryer Heater

Dryer heater 279837, is located in the back of the dryer and is used on Whirlpool, Roper, KitchenAid, Kenmore and some Maytag dryers and laundry centers.

 

This dryer heater 279837, is isolated from the frame and is mounted using high temperature ceramic brackets. This prevents the heater from shorting to ground. When a dryer heater is touching the ground metal frame, it can conduct 115 volts through the grounded section causing it to heat up, even when the dryer is turned off and the timer is in the off position.
