The GE SmartWater MWF Refrigerator water filter (Smart Water filter) is used on GE, Hotpoint and Kenmore side-by-side refrigerators and is located in the upper right of the refrigerator section.

According to the manufacturer GE, the MWF filter reduces lime scale buildup, chlorine, dirt and rust in your water and ice, is NSF Certified and retains the beneficial fluoride in your water.

The MWF SmartWater filter replaces the following refrigerator water filters: GWF, GWF01, GWF06, HXRT, and Hotpoint HWF. The SmartWater MWF also replaces the MXRC, FXRT, FXRC and Kenmore 46-9905 refrigerator water filters when used with a reusable adapter.
