How to change a bake element

Before you do anything make sure that you TURN OFF the power. Pull the range out and unplug it if possible. Once you are sure the power is off remove the racks in the oven and look for the screws that hold the element to the back wall. Remove the screws and gently slide the element forward making sure that the wires connected to the element come with it. These are short wires so you will need a flashlight to see and remove them. When you install the wires on the new element make sure they are tight on the terminals. There is a lot of current flowing and a bad connection will destroy the terminal and damage the wire.
