Dryer lint catcher screen 31001640, is located on the front of the dryer and is used to capture the lint as the hot air exits the dryer. If you do not clean the lint filter after every load, lint builds up on the filter and is scraped off by the edge of the filter mount when you eventually do pull it out. That scraped off lint is sucked down by the blower and causes an internal or external dryer vent restriction.
