How does a washing machine fill valve work?
A washing machine fill valve is an electromechanical valve that allows hot and cold water to enter the washing machine. Washer fill valves have at least two coils that act as electromagnets that when energized, allow the water to flow. The water supply pressure applies force to a diaphragm to prevent water from entering the machine when the timer or electronic control is not asking for water.
