The 3/16 inch center post terminals, on the top of the 134048800, dryer heat control thermostat, are connected to a small internal heater inside the thermostat. This allows the manufacturer to heat the thermostat internally, allowing it to cycle early reducing the internal drum temperature for the permanent press and delicate cycles. The typical clothes dryer operating temperature is between 140 to 160 degrees Fahrenheit. When the vent is restricted, no air flows past this thermostat and it will not cycle. That's when the dryer's high limit thermostats and thermal fuses are activated. |
